We are currently looking for a Service Maintenance Technician that will be supporting our customer located in Cornwall, Canada.

POSTION SUMMARY:

The Senior Maintenance Technicians are the main responder to emergency situations and will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance at the mechanical and electrical level of the material handling system.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Exercise safe working practice at all times, and comply with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, scanners, material handling equipment and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals and specifications using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Prepare and execute service calls, Emergency Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance
  • Report service calls internally and to customer
  • Advise and execute optimization of (sub) systems, consulting the supervisor, control and propose  improvements for the quality of the service process
  • Analyze system performance (and the operator influence)
  • Occasionally monitor system from Control Room
  • Develop service supporting tools and means
  • Un-jam conveyors, as needed
  • Complete CMMS Service Reports, Parts Usage and Warranty Records
  • Research and Request spare parts as required
  • Perform Inventory Counts
  • Provide Supervisory support as a lead technician
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Electrical License: Industrial Electrician Trade Certification or Certified Construction/Maintenance Electrician or "Red Seal" Industrial Millwright License is required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance
  • Education of and experience with electrical and mechanical drawings/prints
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • CMMS experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year CMMS experience
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC’s
  • Minimum 3 years of experience of supporting automated systems with a good level of electro-mechanical skills.
  • Relevant vocational and / or technical qualifications.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities (Competencies)

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical (motors, electrical circuits, Scanner systems, and other material handling equipment)  and controls (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Device Net) systems
  • Mechanical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills (gearboxes / bearings / sprockets / drives etc).
  • Ability to read diagrams, electrical drawings, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications
  • Knowledge of use of hand tools, precision measuring and standard electrical testing instruments
  • Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
