The Singapore office is part of Customer Centre Airports Parcel Solutions Asia Pacific (CC APS APAC) and is active in Asia Pacific region. The Sales organization is active in the market segments Airports (Baggage Handling Systems) and Parcel sortation facilities. To support the further growth of CC APS APAC we are recruiting for a Sales Engineer.

Your responsibilities

Together with the Sales Manager you will make an important contribution to sales success in the pre-contract phase of a project. Your tasks include identifying customer needs, developing and evaluating the right logistics solutions, preparing sales proposals and presenting these to customers. You will build and maintain together with the Sales Manager and the rest of the Sales Engineering team a constructive working relation with the customer and define the appropriate sales tactics.

During the tender process you will work on complex technical and business issues and develop solutions using automation equipment from Vanderlande and preferred suppliers. For the internal organisation you are the contact person on technical and concept specifications in relation to the project, and you will play an important role in the transfer from the sales team to the project execution team.

The Sales Engineer is fully in control of quality and progress with respect to the sales proposal and calculates the price of the proposal. You translate the needs (within RFPs) into solutions while evaluating technical conformances, non-conformances, functionality, business needs, cost, and risks.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Master’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in relevant study (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or similar discipline)
  • 5 years relevant working experience
  • Strong customer focus
  • Team player
  • Creative
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial international organization, often working across organizational, geographic, and cultural boundaries
  • Strong analytical ability to structure and solve logistics problems
  • Good communication skills (internal and external)
  • Willing to travel internationally (up to 20% of your time)
