Role Profile Title:
Team Leader – IAG Cargo 

Working within IAG Cargo, the Team Leader will be leading, coordinating & managing the Engineering maintenance technicians to ensure productivity and output, equipment availability, health & safety compliance, quality, Maximo reporting and team working is optimised in accordance with agreed timescales.

Ownership
To support the duty manager in managing the shift based Engineering maintenance technicians to carry out planned preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance. To maintain and optimize the performance of the equipment and staff in terms of operational safety, availability, responsiveness and throughput to meet the contractual service levels. Act as first point of escalation in the absence of the duty manager and seek to resolve issues as they arise.

Build Reputation with Customers
To be the principal point of contact for BA Operations in the absence of the duty manager with regards to the above and responsible for the reporting in accordance with the agreed schedules and company procedures.

Drive to Win
Responsible for the Vanderlande maintenance team and any contractors working on their behalf with the primary objective to achieve optimum work performance, productivity and reliability, including where necessary measures to improve performance.
Support duty manager in organising teams in all aspects of working time, presence at work, work rosters, staffing matrix, building access, health and safety inductions, cargo handling safety requirements, holiday and sickness, absence cover and overtime work.
Ensure proper handover of shift duties including tools and gear as well as ongoing unresolved matters, areas of concern and plant equipment that was only just returned to service.
Ensure work is carried out “right first time” and instigate Root for major or repetitive breakdowns.

Team Play

Attend meetings with BA and other Vanderlande functions in order liaise and debrief operational matters, pick up, verify and settle concerns, progress joint efforts, propose worthwhile ways ahead while building reliable and trustworthy relationships.
Disseminate comprehensive, accurate and presentable reports according to the contractual obligations and other mutual agreements in a timely manner. Ensure all work entered into Maximo correctly and in a timely manner.

Enable plant monitoring, fault detection and correction by use of proven procedures that provide for early detection, well-thought-out prioritisation, speedy response, containment of fault propagation as well as mitigation of impact to the primary operational objectives such as safety, availability, adherence to deadlines and throughput.

To ensure that all such staff comply with all aspects of Health and Safety at work and with the Company Procedures.
Ensure correct PPE is worn, Permit and LOT procedures are followed.

Desired Skill & Experience:
Demonstrate problem/fault fining skills. Understand how to collect, validate sufficient information to carry out effective root cause analysis and develop recommendations for implementation.
Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate precisely both in writing and verbally at all levels.
Be computer literate
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Be able to plan and prioritise work load.
Be able to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team
Be of smart appearance and behave professionally and be respectful to all people.
Work overtime as required.
Be experienced in the use of PPM systems
Essential
Have experience in managing multi skilled maintenance teams
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent
City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 or above in maintenance mechanical/electrical discipline
Previous experience within an FMCG manufacturing or automated warehousing environment (essential)
A proactive approach to fault finding alongside excellent communication skills
Be a team player with a flexible and pragmatic attitude
