Introduction
As Senior network specialist you will be responsible for the network of over 50 offices around the world, including the HQ in the Netherlands. Key responsibility areas are the datacenter network which includes Check Point firewalls, F5 load balancers and Aruba CX switching. The Internet/WAN, Remote Access VPN and cloud networks.
Responsibilities
- Technical lead for internal network projects
- Determine roadmaps and plans to keep the network secure and future proof;
- Maintain and improve the network environment with a strong focus on security and end-user experience;
- Secure Vanderlande’s interest during negotiation and cooperation with your peers;
- Support stakeholders with finding solutions for specific use cases within the business;
- Creating and maintaining high- and low-level designs;
- Troubleshooting and fixing complex issues;
- Escalating problems to vendors;
- Automation of tasks and Implementing improvements;
- Technical knowledge preferred: Check Point (MDM, firewalls); Internet & WAN (IPSec VPN & BGP) ; Network Load Balancers (F5); Aruba CX routing and switching (Aruba Central, BGP-EVPN, VXLAN, OSPF); Cloud networking; Automation (AWX Ansible, python, PowerShell)
What will you be doing?
- Maintaining network availability and performance by performing network monitoring and analysis;
- Creating network designs by analyzing workflow, access, information and security requirements;
- Performing (complex) changes;
- Document and share knowledge with first- and second-line support engineers and other departments.
What do we ask from you?
- Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology or equivalent;
- Fluent in English (written and verbal); also in Dutch is a plus
- Proficient communication and influencing skills;
- More than 8 years’ experience in IT networking;
- Proven networking knowledge & skills (CCNP level or higher);
- Experience with acting between business & service organizations of global Telecom companies;
- Experience within a global organization;

This position offers a competitive salary range of € 5500 to € 6250 gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
