HSE Compliance Analyst

Reporting to the Senior HSE Program Manager, the HSE Compliance Analyst will enhance, administer, and assist in the overall administration of the Health, Safety, Environment regulatory compliance program for Vanderlande North America and assist in the tracking of the Worker’s Compensation program. This Analyst will be an administrator in the VelocityEHS online system and will assist in the administration of the entire program and ensuring that the system has accurate information.   The Analyst will review and adjust all entries into the system, looking for accuracy of the data and any trends and reporting that can be done with the data. The Analyst will review the data and make sure all issues are tracked, countermeasures established, and issues closed.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams (finance, senior management, legal, site management, managers of site management, compliance and Corporate HSE) in ensuring accurate monthly record keeping and reporting. Sustainability reporting in line with Corporate HSE standards and expectations for North America. This Analyst will focus on accurate record and/or data keeping, gathering reporting, and tracking of compliance record in line with OSHA Record Keeping and Reporting standards, incident monitoring and administration, monthly report generation, and communication with employees, managers, and interacts with others on the HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Team to ensure the program is run effectively. Additionally, will take an active role in a rigorous back-to-work program and work with sites to return injured employees back to duty in shorter time periods. In this role, the coordinator will support corporate safety and health plans while providing support to safety and health training.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manages Record keeping of various records including occupational injury records (OSHA 300 and 300A forms) in line with OSHA's injury and illness recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Actively manage data regarding injuries that have resulted in medical care or lost days of work. Ensure that the OSHA 300 reports are accurately reflected.
  • Act as an administrator in the HSE VelocityEHS system and perform activities of an administrator such as correction of entries and review of incident investigations.
  • Conduct organized and professional administration of the Vanderlande Health, Safety, and Environmental software program (VelocityEHS).
  • Master VelocityEHS safety software and become very familiar with obtaining records and reports from the system.
  • Use analytical skills to examine trends and develop processes that are proactive in nature to solve negative trends and issues.
  • Monitor Inspection/audit reports, monitor Corrective Actions for follow up and completion, coordinate and monitor tracking of Training, coordinate, and organize Safety Department policies and documents for company use, etc.
  • Understand how to use the insurance carrier online interface and become familiar with obtaining the open claims report.
  • Coordinate with site leadership whenever an employee gets injured, or an incident occurs. Ensure first reports of injury are submitted and that notifications are made into the HSE system.
  • Actively support the return-to-work process and the site management to optimize return-to-work timeliness and opportunities to return-to-work with light duty restrictions.
  • Ensure global reporting is conducted and that the data sent to the global organization is accurate with the Worker’s Compensation and the VelocityEHS system.
  • Assist in the formatting and tracking of HSE training and the development of new training.
  • Assist in the management of department communications and the department SharePoint site.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or engineering is desired. A degree in another field or related experience may be acceptable.
  • Strong computer software and data analysis skills are essential.
  • Experience with online systems for data entry and reporting preferred.
  • Experience with normal business-related software such as PowerBI, Smart sheet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience managing a process or procedure requiring a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
